BACKGROUND	Our client, a major Australian financial services institution, was looking for large reduction in costs and increased service efficiency of its suppliers. 30% of the technology budget was dedicated to the delivery of desktop, network and storage. With over 30 third parties contributing to the delivery of these services. Supplier accountabilities were fragmented due to a lack of service level clarity resulting in a sub-optimal service / cost outcome. reveal group was approached to review and estimate the potential opportunity for cost savings and service efficiency.
OUR ROLE	Supplier optimisation is focused on delivering cost savings and improving supply chain effectiveness in a sustainable way. Our approach was to analyse the activities required to deliver an end-to end service, they were identified and re-assembled into modules designed to optimise manageability, business value realisation and cost-to-deliver. Projects were developed to deliver internal capability improvement and supplier consolidation.
RESULT	reveal group identified significant benefits: Year-on-year cost savings of $10 - $15M Supplier consolidation resulting in better service Enhanced time to market, customer experience, stability and reliability Suppliers have end-to-end accountability for all of the activities, assets and services required for a business service Sustainability supported by internal capability effectiveness recommendations; provide architectural direction and support processes.
